13 January 2026 Finally in Luxor

We started at 4:30am in Manchester and now nearly it is 20:30GMT (UK) and I am tucked up on board the Al Horeya in Luxor Egypt. It’s been a long day. We took off from Manchester Airport at 9:00am and landed in Luxor at 4:15 pm local (Egyptian) time.

But here are some highlights from the day:

And then as we come to North Africa we meet the mouth of the Nile and start to follow the Nile, a green thread through the desert, till we come to Luxor.

And continuing on into the Nile.

We were met at the airport by the Tui tour team and got sorted onto one of the respective buses. And got to out boat just as the sun was about to set.

After an introduction to the crew and a general talk, we got to have dinner and then went up to catch a glimpse of the Luxor at night.
