Today we are in Aswan the city.
The boat seem pretty empty as two early morning tour went out all day. We are booked on to an evening High Tea at the Cataract Hotel at 4,30pm to watch the sunset over the Nile. The hotel was built by the British in 1899. A favourite of Agatha Christie ans Churchill…possibly not at the same time. The whole atmosphere gives speaks of colonial rule.

The inside is quite Egyptian with its striped archways.

And then we went through the hotel to the back garden and down to near the Nile to enjoy the view and out sandwiches, tea and cakes.

Then after the sunset we were driven back to our boat. The views and sunset were lovely.

It did make me think we have seen several sunsets but have always got up before after the sun has risen. That might be easier to see when we are in the hotel next week.
