Back in May 2024 we booked for 15 days in the Aegean. Meant to start on Tuesday 11th March.
Due to an error on my part, we were prevented from joining the tour until 13th March, having missed the original flight we were determined to join the by the 3rd day deadline granted by RSD Travel and with the superlative assistance of Paige at Hayes Travel in Northfield we got a flight out of Heathrow to arrive in Rhodes by 10.00am on the 13th.

So we started at Virginia Family Holiday Centre, which although currently occupied by several tours of mostly late middle-aged to elderly adults of various nationalities, the was plenty of evidence that during school holidays they have good provision for children of all ages.

We arrived just in time to leave.
So arriving on Thursday, on Friday we set off by ferry to cross from Rhodes to Miramas, Turkey and get a coach (4 coaches actually) to travel up through mountains and down through valleys and back up mountains to get to Pamukkale (which means Castle of Cotton). It is renowned for its thermal springs and limestone terraces which makes it look as if it is snow covered.

Alongside the cascading limestone are the ancient remains of Hierapolis an ancient Greek city of 150,000 people which was later taken over by the Romans.

At 5.30 we gathered at the coaches once more to drive to our nearby hotel Polat Thermal Hotel with a choice of thermal or cold outdoor pools and a hamman/turkish bath and spa on site; none of which we used being too tired.
