A new week at a new home!
So on Monday we gave Evelyn her birthday cards and then we all cleaned Susan’s beach house in Bethany Beach for a family arriving early Tuesday morning. When the laundry was all finished dried and put in the linen cupboards Judith and I moved on to Ev & Denny’s house in in Lakeview Estates in Millsboro…still in Delaware and only 30 minutes farther/further inland.
They built their house about 10 years or so when Denny retired from teaching music in New Jersey. They have ground sourced heating, and well water, and septic system that recirculates wastewater back into the soil.

It was a quiet week of lazy days and card games in the evening. Over the two weeks in Delaware they taught us 9 Holes, a card game based on golf, and Bunco, a dice game and Five Crowns, a card game with 5 suits and 2 decks of cards. I was lucky and had beginner’s luck and won several games.
Tuesday and Wednesday Denny and I spent the morning in his workshop on the rigid heddles he helped me make for band weaving. He also made me shuttles and a stand to hold them.

And on Thursday we went to see his friend’s workshop. David Clark makes model boats…actually he makes scaled replicas of specific boats. He also cut the slits for my heddles.

And then the four of us went out to dinner to celebrate or mark our last night. Friday Denny drove us up to Newark Airport so we could start our journey home to Birmingham.
And what a greeting in Dublin when we landed and it was cold and pouring with rain. But my family were also having bad weather and Mike & Susan lost electric service for the second time in two weeks.
And finally just because Wendy asked for a map here is the journey approximately.
